patterning pomegranates
I’m getting ready for services and I notice 2 pomegranates appear on my kitchen counter. I’m like, God? Is that you?
Turns out my roommate who didn’t know anything about Rosh Hashanah “just felt like eating pomegranate today.” And I’m like ah yes, God’s magic indeed.
Flash forward to zoom services with @jewishstudioproject, whose programming I always attend with art supplies in front of me. That’s been something really beautiful about high holiday services these past few years over zoom — I get to tap into my art practice as a fully spiritual experience. And as Rabbi @adin_olam is speaking truth per usual, pomegranate seeds are exploding in my mouth and I’m like waittttt I wonder what color these would look like as paint? And I’m like woah God, your magic again.
So then I’m reflecting on an art workshop I did earlier this week with @studiopathways about identifying patterns in our lives we want to break, change, and create anew. The work is artful, deep, transformational, and beautifully inspired by local artist @adiamillett. The truth is learning from @mariah.lifeisart and @jessabriecreates always feels like a spiritual experience, yet the obvious connections this time around were too surreal.
Shana Tovah Umetuka.
May this be a time of transforming patterns that do not serve us into patterns that feel sweet, aligned, juicy, expansive, surprising, & wholesome.
